Communication Studies

Admission Requirements:
Admission to the Graduate Certificate program in Communication is open to qualified graduates of recognized colleges and universities accredited by a regional or general accrediting agency. To complete the application process, the student must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A completed Graduate Admissions application form
  • A bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • Two official transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions in which the candidate was enrolled
  • An overall GPA of 2.75 or better as an undergraduate, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the junior and senior years
  • Satisfactory scores on the aptitude section of the Graduate Record Examination
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A personal statement of professional goals


Requirements:

  • Comm 6100 Communication Research Methods
  • Comm 6101 Communication Theory
  • 9 Credit Hours Communication electives, graduate level courses
    • (No more than 3 credit hours at the 5000 level)
